INTIMATE IMPRESSIONS : ART FROM PANAMERICAIMPRESIONES INTIMAS : ARTES DE LAS AMERICASIMPRESSIONS PERSONNELLES : ART DES AMERIQUESJuly 8 - 31, 1999<Site> Gallery - Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Welcome to the website for the juried print exhibition sponsored by the Manitoba Printmakers Association in conjunction with the Pan Am Games held in Winnipeg, July 22 - August 8, 1999. 109 artists from 11 countries submitted 298 works to the jury. The jury picked 98 works of art for the show. At this site you will find a taste of the exhibition itself. Look for an individual artist, media or country of origin by consulting the artist list. Stroll through the exhibition by gazing at the gallery walls. Don't forget to take a close up view. Jurors for the exhibition were Tom Smart, Arnold Saper and Lyndal Osborne. Lyndal Osborne is a printmaking and installation artist and educator living and working in Edmonton. She is a Professor of Art at the University of Alberta. Arnold Saper is an artist whose career has been dedicated to the production of and promotion of traditional printmaking. He is also a retired Professor from the University of Manitoba School of Art. Tom Smart brings his extensive experience in curating and writing to this project. He is the past Acting Director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery and has recently accepted a position with the Frick Art and Historical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
